The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko asked the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker to Express support for the initiative of Kyiv about the direction of UN peacekeepers in Ukraine, informs on the first day of the weekend-the press service of the President.
"Petro Poroshenko also appealed to the President of the European Commission with a petition to Express support for consideration in the EU institutions the possibility to send a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine in the framework of the European security and defence ", - informs the press service of the results of a telephone conversation Poroshenko with Juncker.
The interlocutors also touched upon the issue of additional mechanisms to increase macro-financial assistance and participation of the EU in international conference in support of Ukraine.
Poroshenko and Jean-Claude Juncker discussed the issues on the agenda of the Eastern partnership summit in Riga. Poroshenko drew attention to the need to resolve the issue of Ukraine's accession to the agreement on common aviation area and tried to convince the European Commission to discover the mechanisms for compromise to the signing of this contract at some future summits, with the assistance of the EU and Ukraine.
