MOSCOW, 3 APR - RIA Novosti/Prime. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the last working day of the week will hold a meeting on the issue on sectoral plans of import substitution in Russia, it is reported.
The problem of import substitution, which largely depend most industries of the Russian economy, worsened after complications of relations with the West in 2014 in connection with the situation in Ukraine.
At the end of July, the EU and the United States from the point of sanctions against certain individuals and organizations have moved to the measures against entire sectors of the Russian economy. In response, Russia restricted imports of food items from countries that have previously imposed penalties: USA, EU, Canada, Australia and Norway. The prohibition also included beef, pork, poultry, sausages, fish, vegetables, fruits and dairy products. Russia imposed food embargo for one year.
the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia in March announced the creation of a coordinating body for substitution, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said he would himself seized of the matter.
Relevant agencies: the Ministry of industry and trade, Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of communications, Ministry of agriculture and the Ministry of economic development were obligated before April 1, to approve the program to import substitution, and by July 1, to prepare the documents for their implementation.
on Thursday, the Ministry of industry and trade approved the proper planning in the chemical, pharmaceutical and medical industry, aerospace, oil refining, nonferrous metallurgy, oil and gas and transport engineering. The substitution will cost Russia 1, 26 trillion rubles, said first 1st Deputy head of the Ministry of industry and trade Gleb Nikitin.
