Rada adopted a law exempting from mobilization of students
Ukraine's Parliament on Tuesday passed a law that will give the possibility to exempt from mobilization of students, postgraduates and doctoral students of day form of education. The relevant Document at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada supported 245 parliamentarians with the necessary minimum of 226 votes.
According to the law, military service at will have the opportunity to be freed Soldiers who are students or graduate students of day form of education and were called up for military service by conscription during mobilization for the special period. It was also decided to include in the Document standards alternative law regarding exemption from military service doctoral students of day form of education. In the explanatory paper to the act notes that, as of 1 January 2014, the number of doctoral students in Ukraine - 1831 people, including doctoral-men - 867 people.
The document shall be signed by the leader of Ukraine. It is planned that the law will take effect from the day following the day of its promulgation in the official media.
The Ukrainian authorities began in April last year in the Donbass military operation against dissatisfied with the coup d'etat of residents of the region. According to the summary data of the UN, the victims of the conflict began more than 6 thousand people. The problem of settlement of the Ukrainian fall under negotiation in different formats, for example, at the meetings of the contact group in Minsk with the mediation of Russia and the OSCE. The next meeting of the contact group on February 12 ended with the adoption of a package of measures on execution of the Minsk agreements, involving, for example, the ceasefire in the Donbas with fifteen February, the withdrawal of heavy weapons and the development of the security zone.
Start of mobilization in the Ukrainian army for the special period began with the decree of acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on 17 March 2014. In the past year in Ukraine it's been 3 waves of mobilization, and the same is expected in 2015.
