The President of Russia Vladimir Putin during a straight line commented on the situation with the French "Mistral". According to the leaders of the country, he hoped on the integrity of the French, which in the case of a supply disruption will return the cash. The penalty, however, Moscow strongly did not want to ask.
Russia to urge from France penalties for the refusal to supply "Mistral". This was said by Vladimir Putin in the process of "Straight line". Along with this, according to the statement, the leaders of the country, Paris will need to pay all incurred losses.
"I assume that the current French administration, the French noble people and we will return the funds. We are not going to urge some sort of penalties, fines outrageous, but it is necessary for all the losses that we incurred were recovered," said the President.
With all of this, according to Vladimir Putin, Russia and its defensibility in the event of failure of France from the supply of "Mistral" will not suffer. "Refusal to supply "Mistral" under the current contract is an evil symbol. But frankly, for us based on the beliefs of the maintenance of national defense has no one meaning," said the President, noting that contracts for the supply of helicopter carrier were concluded to support French partners and to ensure utilization of their shipyards.
The President drew attention to the fact that the refusal to supply "Mistral" is forcing Moscow to think about the reliability of partners from NATO. "This reliability is in question, and, naturally, we will continue to provide in the subsequent process of cooperation and military-technical cooperation," Putin said.
Remember at the beginning of September 2014, French President Francois Hollande announced that the transfer of helicopter carrier to Russia will depend on the implementation of the agreement on ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine. After that, the delivery of "Mistral" was postponed several times. The final decision on the supply to this day is not accepted.
