The head of Poland blessed the development of the military brigade with Lithuania and Ukraine
The head of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski signed the Law that he may ratify the Treaty establishing the mutual Polish-Ukrainian-Lithuanian brigade ( " Lipolyse ", LitPolUkrBrig), according to a report on the Ministry of defense of Poland.
The law will take effect two weeks after publication, after which Polish the head will be able to ratify the Treaty.
The brigade will be used in the operations conducted under the auspices of the UN, NATO and the EU. The main goal of the participation in peacekeeping operations. The brigade is being created to strengthen regional military cooperation and assistance to Ukraine in reforming its military power. The headquarters will be located in the Polish city of Lublin, according to a report in the Polish Department.
Work on the creation of mutual Polish-Ukrainian-Lithuanian brigade began in 2007 in the framework of the talks between the defense Ministers of the three countries. The Treaty establishing the creation of the defense Ministers of Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania was signed in September 2009 in the capital of Poland.
