Norilsk Nickel invested $4.209bn in its group companies during the first six months of 2007, the company reported yesterday.
In particular, the company`s growth in investment is associated with the purchase of a 50-percent stake in the joint venture Nkomati Nickel Mine after its acquisition of LionOre.
Norilsk Nickel`s investment in securities and other financial assets amounted to $2.929bn in H1 2007, which is linked to a rise in the company`s OGK-3 stake from 14.6 to 49.9 percent within the first half year of 2007 and the acquisition of a long-term financial investment in connection with the consolidation of Harjavalta Nickel Oy and Cawse Proprietary Limited, and LionOre.
