The IAEA has verified the use of nuclear materials at Rivne NPP
The international atomic energy Agency (IAEA) held at Rivne nuclear power plant two Inspections to verify the use of nuclear materials, informs on Thursday a press-service of the Ministry of energy and coal industry of Ukraine.
As informs a press-service, the IAEA this week conducted scheduled and unscheduled Inspections at the site of Rivne NPP.
"IAEA inspections at RAPP held in Accordance with the Agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, which was signed in 1995. In the inspection process of review of the use of nuclear materials in good order ", - is informed in the report.
As informs a press-service, in connection with completion of the preventative recovery second unit, IAEA Inspectors checked the fuel in the spent fuel pool, and sealed his plate, transport channel and the cap of the reactor unit. Inspectors at unit? 1 was conducted to verify the operability of the cameras, and the replacement seals for the cameras of video surveillance systems installed during the previous inspection. The inspectors conducted an inventory of fresh nuclear fuel storage units? 1, 2.
on Wednesday in the framework of unscheduled inspections, the Inspectors conducted surveillance of fresh nuclear fuel storage units? 3, 4. Specialists RAPP were prepared and provided to the inspectors documents for inventory of nuclear fuel. As said the head of the laboratory of nuclear fuel of nuclear safety Department of RAES Boris Yastremsky, both Inspections were successful - observations from the inspection was not. Previous IAEA inspection of RAPP took place last month and involved the observation of the light of the small quantities of nuclear materials.
Rivne nuclear power plant (RAPP) is located in the North-West of Rovno region. At RAPP operated four units.
