The Riga summit supported the progress of Georgia and Ukraine on visa liberalisation
Countries of the Eastern partnership summit in Riga "warmly welcomed" the progress of Georgia and Ukraine in the use of the action plan on visa liberalisation, according to the final Declaration of the summit.
"They are waiting for the completion of Ukraine and Georgia to the implementation of the second phase of their plans of action on visa liberalisation once all objectives will be accomplished through the implementation of all necessary reforms.They welcomed the readiness of the European Commission to do all they can to support Ukraine and Georgia in the process of implementation of their plans of action on liberalization of the visa regime and its intention to submit a report on the progress of Ukraine and Georgia to the end of the year. The fulfillment of all goals will give the opportunity to finish the process of the action plan on visa liberalisation, and the Commission will then propose to the European Parliament and the Council to release the Ukrainian and Georgian citizens from visa requirements ", - is informed in the report.
