Gross External debt of Ukraine in the 1st quarter of the current year decreased by 0, 3% (340 million dollars) up to 125, 967 billion dollars, informs on the first day of the week the national Bank of Ukraine.
according to the NBU, as at 1 January of the current year the debt was 126, 307 billion, and on January 1, 2014 - 142, 079 billion.
External liabilities of the sectors of General government and the NBU increased to 40, 4 billion dollars (26, 4% to 35, 5% of GDP). External debt of the banking sector of Ukraine decreased by 1, 6 billion dollars and amounted to 17, $ 1 billion (15% of GDP).
The debt of other economy sectors (including intercompany debt) decreased by 4, $ 1 billion at the end of the first quarter 2015 $ 68, $ 4 billion, in relation to GDP this indicator increased for the quarter with 54, 6% to 60%.
currently Ukraine in fact is on the verge of default, the national currency over one year fell by more than 3 times. Ukraine receives aid from the IMF and trying to come to a consensus with creditors on debt restructuring.
The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko before he said that Ukraine is planning in the current decade in the U.S. capital to hold a trilateral meeting with the participation of the division of creditors and the IMF to restructure the debt.
