The Ministry of justice will check the statutes of the Communist party in congruence with the law on decommunization
The Commission of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine in the near future will provide findings regarding compliance of the Charter and program documents of the Communist party of the law on decommunization said Tuesday 1st Deputy Minister of justice Natalia Sevostyanova.
The law "about the condemnation of the Communist and Nazi regimes" prohibiting propaganda of Soviet symbols came into force at the end of may. According to the document, a period of one month was given to the parties that they should bring the statutes in congruence with the legislative act. The Communist party of Ukraine (KPU) has decided not to change the name and the party's program, as required by the document.
Tuesday held the first meeting of the Commission that will test the party, the media and trademarks in congruence with the law on decommunization.
according to the Sevastianova, during the first meeting, the Commission will look at the appeal of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk on conformity to norms of the law of three political parties - the Communist party of Ukraine, Communist party of Ukraine updated, and the Communist party of workers and peasants.
"Today (Tuesday), the Commission has just started its work. In the near future will be given a legal conclusion, the results of which the Minister of justice will make a decision regarding the compliance or noncompliance of certain political forces to the norms of this law, " said Sevostyanova.
She added that if the justice Department will be made a conclusion about discrepancy of a political party, its regional and local organizations with the requirements of the law on decommunization they cannot be the subjects of the electoral process.
