The EP called for the development of memorials to the memory of war correspondents
Deputy Chairman of the state Duma, coordinator of the social platform "United Russia" Sergei Zheleznyak sees the need for an international campaign for the establishment of memorials to the correspondents who died in hot spots.
"We think that it is necessary to combine efforts in order to, maybe, do share international on the creation of memorials dedicated to the memory of the victims of correspondents. Needless to say, such memorial shall be in the capital of our Motherland - Moscow ", - said Zheleznyak.
the MP said that pending in the lower house of Parliament is a bill that increases protection and the rights of journalists working in hot spots.
"We need not be confined to the bill. We need to do everything in their power to ensure that one side of our correspondents even in the toughest conditions felt protected and of course the objective is to preserve the memory of those who gave their lives for a right that is in our Constitution, which is the main law of the most intelligent and civilized countries is the right to know what is happening, " added Zheleznyak.
Tuesday in the state Duma held a round table dedicated to the memory of the war correspondents who lost his life in hot spots. The purpose of the event, organized by the social platform of the party " United Russia ", will be the formation of international public proposals for the creation of memorials to war correspondents who died in hot spots, in different countries of the world. The project is of such a memorial is proposed to take an image of the deceased in Ukraine in the last year of photographer MIA "Russia today" Andrew Stenina.
