Today the electoral Commission of the Kaliningrad continues the comprehensive revision of information about Yakunin, adds "Interfax". "On this day we received responses from the presidential administration about the presence of his diplomatic rank of Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and even places of work from RJ. Now the electoral Commission is awaiting answers from the appropriate agencies about the possible presence of a candidate in the 2 senators of citizenship and criminal record," said Commission Chairman Inez Vinyarski.
According to her statement, the requested information is of fundamental importance. Only upon receipt of replies from the departments verification will be considered completed, and the status Yakunin as a candidate for Senator will be approved.
August 20, Yakunin was relieved from the post of managing Railways. He was replaced by former Deputy transport Minister Oleg Belozerov.
On the nomination Yakunin in the senators from the Kaliningrad region became known on August 17. The candidacy of the former head of Russian Railways in the Federation Council suggested that the head of region Nikolay Tsukanov.
