Ukraine takes nuclear waste from Russia

The Ministry of energy and coal industry of Ukraine is preparing the contract on return of spent nuclear fuel of VVER-440 reactors of the Rivne NPP. The process of removing nuclear waste from the area of the Russian Federation may be initiated no earlier than 2016 if you follow the condition created a suitable infrastructure.

The Ukrainian authorities, apparently, took a definite and precise course on the systematic refusal to cooperate with Russia in almost all areas. This has actually led to an absolute halt production capacity of Ukraine, hit on trading relationships, jeopardize passenger service between States.

Now in projects of the Ukrainian government to take the area of Russia's own spent nuclear fuel acquired after the operation of the Rivne NPP. The Ministry of energy and coal industry powers have formed a working group to study the recommendations of the state enterprise "NNEGC "Energoatom" for signing a suitable contract, "Interfax. Ukraine".

In 2013, the Executive Director of "Energoatom" for nuclear and radiation safety Natalia shumkova noticed that the return of the Ukrainian radioactive waste may be initiated no earlier than 2016, provided that Ukraine will be created commensurate infrastructure.
