At least three soldiers have been injured in a blast in the volatile southern Russian republic of Chechnya, local police said on Tuesday.
A police spokesman told RIA Novosti that a roadside bomb detonated near the village of Dai in the Shatoysky district on Monday afternoon when troops were examining the area.
A car bomb exploded in the neighboring republic of Dagestan early on Tuesday in Makhachkala, injuring at least four police officers and one civilian.
Russia`s North Caucasus region has seen a surge in violence in recent months. Attacks on police, officials and troops, and special operations against militants have been reported almost daily in Dagestan, Chechnya, and Ingushetia.
