Eight people are missing after a section of an under-construction bridge collapsed in western Kazakhstan early on Saturday, an emergencies services official said.
"Preliminary information indicates that eight workers are missing," the official said, adding that the accident had happened during ongoing construction work.
Three people were rescued when the section of the bridge across the Ural River to the city of Atyrau gave way. One of them was hospitalized. A search for the missing construction workers is underway.
