Pushilin: in the elections in the Donbass it is necessary to choose deputies and mayors
The self-proclaimed authorities of Donetsk national Republic believe that the conduct of elections in the Donbass in the coming year will need to choose at the same time people's deputies of local councils, heads of cities and districts, told reporters Plenipotentiary representative of the DND in the contact group Denis Putilin.
Power DND and LNR on Tuesday agreed to postpone local elections for 2016. Before the last working day of the week Putilin said that the new tentative date is February 21.
"If it (the holding of local elections in the Donbas - ed.) will be coordinated in the sub-group on political issues, I think, ought to choose all of the deputies of local councils and heads of towns and districts," - said Pushilin.
He added that the exact date of the elections in the Donbass will be known, when Kiev will honor its own shoulders obligations.
"The probability of this process will be determined by constructive work during the political subgroups. We now matter how our citizens live, and the elections are a secondary task, they are no longer needed for the execution of the Minsk agreements, and not for our citizens, " - said Pushilin.
Prior to the date of new elections the Ukrainian Authorities will be obliged to enforce all taken on their own shoulders in Minsk obligations, namely: to provide the Donbass special status, to prevent the persecution and reward the participants within DND and LNR, and also to take amendments to the Constitution in new, coherent with the self-proclaimed republics of edition.
Kiev welcomed the postponement of elections, but also demands the cancellation of the election results of November 2, 2014 in DNR and LNR and informs about the need to adopt a special law on the elections within the limits of separate regions of Donbass.
