Poroshenko plans to discuss in the Parliament the visa-free regime with the European Union
The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the upcoming week wants to hold a meeting with the designated parliamentary parties to find consensus on the adoption of the package of draft laws for the introduction of a visa-free regime with the EU.
Kiev and the EU are implementing a program of liberalization of the visa regime. The Ukrainian authorities hope to receive a visa-free regime with the European Union in early 2016, for the Europeans require from Kiev to intensify the battle against illegal activity of officials, to reform at the border and bring the identity documents to international standards. Last week the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading several draft laws, necessary for visa-free regime with the EU. In the future, the Parliament is obliged to accept them in General, then they still must sign the head.
"I am confident that in the upcoming week I will have the need and to meet with the designated parliamentary parties, and to organize a national Council of reforms (a consultative-Advisory body under the President of Ukraine - ed.) on the problems of implementing all the needed changes," said Poroshenko on Sunday in the interview to Ukrainian TV channels.
Poroshenko said that the Ukrainian government has submitted to Parliament the necessary draft laws, however, the consensus on small points, not related to a visa-free regime, could not be found." I dream that the Parliament will finally take this step and vote, all laws necessary for visa-free regime ", - said the head.
