Klimkin nourishes the hope that Kiev will receive a visa-free regime with the EU in 2016
The head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin expressed hope that Kyiv has a chance to receive visa-free regime with the European Union under the late summer or early fall of 2016, subject to the adoption and implementation of necessary laws.
The Verkhovna Rada this week adopted the basic package of laws necessary For visa liberalization with the EU. Fifteen December is expected to report to the European Commission on the progress of Kiev in the execution of the action plan on visa liberalization. According to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, a positive assessment will begin the preparatory procedures For the cancellation of the visa.
"I am absolutely sure that to actually get a visa-free regime with summer or beginning of autumn. But For this we must execute the laws and in those laws it's bound to work ", - quotes klimkina Ukrainian Agency.
Kiev and the EU are implementing a program of liberalization of the visa regime. The Ukrainian authorities hope to receive a visa-free regime with the European Union in 2016. To do this, the Europeans require from Kiev to intensify the battle against illegal activity of officials, to reform at the border and bring the identity documents to the European model in the form of a biometric ID card.
