`Night at the Museum 3` Is In Progress

Ben Stiller could spend another night at the museum. Following the achievements of "Night at the Museum" and "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian", Thomas Lennon who wrote the scripts for the first two movies claimed making the third film is really possible. "How could you not? I think it`s a really outstanding idea to do `Night at the Museum 3`, in fact," he stated.

Being met on the red carpet of the "Pee-Wee Herman Show" at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, he also hinted that script for third film is being worked on, telling Access Hollywood "I wonder if someone`s not even already working on a script for that." Lennon then added, "I cannot confirm that for a fact, but I cannot deny it for a fact either... It might be in the works."

Furthermore, Lennon has shared his thought about where the upcoming "Night at the Museum 3" might take place. "Here`s a little bit, [a] real quick spoiler alert - `Night at the Museum 3` is set in the Liberace Museum," he said with a smile.

"Night at the Museum" follows Ben Stiller as a newly recruited night security guard at the Museum of Natural History who discovers that an ancient curse causes the animals and exhibits on display to come to life and wreak havoc. After the film was first released in the U.S. on December 22, 2006, it has earned a domestic gross of $250.9 million.

Meanwhile, the follow-up, "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian", sees Stiller infiltrating the Smithsonian Institute in order to rescue Jedediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake. Though it was not as successful as the first movie, it still managed to collect $177.2 million since it was debuted on May 22, 2009 in U.S. theaters.
