Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the hidden forces inside Syria were plotting a chemical attack and now accused in the attack the Syrian regime.
"We have information from different sources that such provocations are prepared in other parts of Syria, including the southern suburbs of Damascus," he said Tuesday during a press conference the President of Italy Sergio Mattarella.
The Russian leader has answered the question about the likelihood of further military U.S. strikes against Syria after Friday was released, 59 Tomahawk missiles at the airport shirt. Putin said that he would ask the Hague and the international community to investigate the attack.
The President of the United States Donald trump April 4, ordered the bombing in response to the chemical attack, which killed dozens of people in rebel-occupied city of Khan Sheyhun. Last week Putin said an American strike an "act of aggression" violating international law.
Russia and Syria have denied any involvement in the chemical attack, but the White house claims that they are trying to hide the incident and to "confuse the international community about who is responsible".
At a briefing on Tuesday, Putin suggested that Russia and Syria is being demonized for policy reasons. "Everyone wants to repair relations within the Western community after, thanks to the former US administration, during the election campaign, many European countries have taken the position of anti-trump," he said. "Syria and Russia as a common enemy, provide an excellent platform for consolidation. We are willing to put up with it for a while in the hope that it will eventually lead us to some positive trends, based on the interaction".
Putin said that the U.S. used the same tactics as in the run-up to the Iraq war. "It reminds me of the events of 2003, when representatives of the United States in the Security Council showed found in Iraq chemical weapons".
During his campaign US President Donald trump said that he is open for cooperation with Russia in Syria and removing Assad is not a priority.
