The CIA created the Center to address the nuclear threat of the DPRK
The CIA has established a Center to solve the threat of nuclear and ballistic missiles by North Korea and its unpredictable leader, announced on Wednesday the American special services.
The establishment of the centre, focusing on the specific threats from the Korean Peninsula, will allow the CIA to "use all the resources, opportunities and powers of the Agency" to deal with North Korea, according to the Agency. The centre will supply power analysts and CIA officers in one place in order to cope with the threat from Pyongyang.
"The new Centre draws on experienced staff from all over the world and combines them into a single unit to convey your expertise and creativity to North Korea," the statement reads. In a statement, CIA Director Mike Pompeo said that the establishment of the Center focuses the efforts of the CIA against the "serious threats" emerging from North Korea, which in recent months has stepped up its testing of nuclear weapons and missiles to strengthen its military capabilities.
The new Agency would "work closely with the intelligence community and the entire community of U.S. national security", - reads the statement of the CIA. Former analyst, Nixon said he also expects to see major cooperation with the South Korean intelligence services in the future.
