In Central Russia unexpectedly returned winter
In Central Russia unexpectedly returned winter. Snowfall led to road accidents and the cancellation of many flights. In the capital once again turned on the heat. Weekend in the Central district and the Volga region will remain the night frosts. Will become warmer only to the end of the month.

Snowfall in the capital lasted all night. In the yards, on the roads and on the highways unusual for mid-may snow. Trees, only letting the leaves bent under the weight of snow. Temperatures hit new records: in places frosts to minus 6. Weather anomaly was the cause of dozens of accidents. Traffic jam on the Leningrad highway - faced 20 cars. A serious accident on the overpass. There overturned truck and blocked 2 lanes. The inspectors barely have time to record all traffic incidents. And so throughout Moscow.

The reason is the ice on the road and failure by drivers of the speed limit in bad weather conditions. Snow covered the capital with a dense blanket. This abnormally cold in may for the Central region of the country is rare. So snow was the last time almost 100 years ago. Winter cold throughout the European part of the country. Last night was the coldest since the beginning of the month. In Kostroma, Kaluga, and Tula regions, the temperature fell to minus 4, In the Kirov and Tver regions - up to minus 5 in the Leningrad, Pskov and Novgorod regions even colder, down to minus 7.

Cold weather with frost at night and snowfall will last in the capital region for at least another week. And only at the end of the month in Moscow will become warmer. Daytime temperatures closer to normal may standards.
