China is ahead of the country's renewable energy

China may become the largest polluter on the planet, but it also leads the world in renewable energy.

Since the trump out of the Paris agreement on climate change, arguing that it will hurt the American economy, Beijing will invest hundreds of billions of dollars and generates millions of jobs. China has built a huge solar and wind farms, helping to stimulate the growth of basic industries that sell their products around the world.

"The Chinese government claims that the economic opportunities of the future will be in clean energy," said Director of climate and energy policy in Beijing, Alvin Lin. According to the latest annual report of the International Agency for renewable energy in China more than 2.5 million people work in the solar energy sector compared with 260 thousand people in the United States.

While President trump promises to return American miners to work, China is moving in the opposite direction.

Coal still accounts for the largest part of energy consumption in China, but Beijing has closed coal mines and last year planned to reduce approximately 1.3 million jobs in the industry. The Chinese government also decided to limit construction of new coal-fired power plants.

For the first time in the history of the Chinese national energy administration has set a mandatory target to reduce energy consumption on coal. It has also set a target for clean energy to meet 20% of the needs of China's energy by 2030.
