The bodies of two missing Swiss found after 75 years

Swiss couple who disappeared from his farm in the Alps during the Second world war was finally discovered, 75 years later, mummified in a glacier.

Marceline and Francine Dumoulin went missing on 15 August 1942, after they moved to the farm his cows in a meadow near his home. They never returned to his family, including their six children.

The employee found the frozen body of men and women last week during planned maintenance. The corpses remained on the now retreating glacier Caplehorn, with many fashionable ski resorts at an altitude of 2,600 m above the sea level. When he came closer, he noticed a collection of frozen accessories - backpacks, watches, glass bottle and boots - all of it dates back to several decades.

Dressed in clothing from the Second world war, the Duo have been frozen close to each other. Since that time, their bodies were taken from the Alps. 79-year-old youngest daughter, Marceline udri-Dumoulin, told Swiss newspaper "Le Matin", that they never ceased to look for them. "We spend our lives looking for them without stopping. We thought one day we will give them the funeral they deserve," she said.

The Institute of forensic medicine will seek formally to identify the bodies using DNA tests, but the children of the pair are convinced that they are missing their parents.
