The lead singer and guitarist of the band Linkin Park, American musician Chester Bennington found dead in his residence. He died at the age of 41 years.
Musician for several years struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. He previously stated that he wanted to commit suicide due to the fact that a child has been sexually abused by men.
Bennington died on Thursday, the birthday of Cornell. Authorities are considering the death of Bennington as an apparent suicide. After his friend Chris Cornell died 2 months ago, the lead singer of Linkin Park Chester Bennington wrote a letter in which he thanked him for what he inspired him, and hoping he will find peace in the "next life."
"Your talent was pure and unmatched, wrote the Bennington. "Your voice was a joy and pain, anger and forgiveness, love and heartache, which were wrapped into one. I guess that's what we all". In his letter in may, the Bennington expressed his gratitude to the former ladygarden and Audioslave veteran that he included it in private moments "with you and your beautiful family."
The Associated Press reported that Bennington was the godfather of the son Cornell, Chris.
Linkin Park played the song for television just a few days after the death of Cornell. Instead use a single called "Heavy", the band decided to go with "One More Light", a song about the loss of your friend.
