The white house on Thursday voted for a bill to spend $1.6 billion will be spent on the border wall along the border between the U.S. and Mexico that is part of a widespread campaign promises of President Donald trump.
Despite the promise of a trump to force Mexico to pay for the wall, the bill allocates taxpayer money for construction along the southwest border. To avoid that those Republicans who oppose the measure, voted for it directly. Domovska Republican leaders tucked it in the procedural measure, which defined the terms of the debate for the so-called bill financing "minibus" for several Federal agencies.
The financing of walls was added to the measure, which combined account for the financing of the Pentagon, energy and water, legislative branch, military construction and veterans affair.
The bill on defense expenditures in the amount of $658 billion was $27 billion more than the budget request trump, and would provide additional military fighter jets, ships, helicopters and troops that was requested by the Pentagon.
The bill on defense expenditures also corresponds to the outline of the house budget, but it violates the cost control of the budget, usually called sequesters. The Senate has no plans to grant the military the same level of funding.
Of Senate Democrats demand equal increase in domestic and military spending in any financing agreement, discussions are expected to heat up closer to the deadline of October 1, to Congress on funding the government.
