Testing North Korea's long-range missiles that can hit major US cities, sparked condemnation from the United States, China, Japan and South Korea and called for a review of tactics against Pyongyang, given the dramatic escalation of its capabilities.
"The time for talking is over, said US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, and pointed to China, saying that Beijing" has to decide whether he is willing to take this vital step " to challenge Pyongyang, repeated that the US President Donald trump, who said he was "very disappointed in China." On Monday, trump turned to his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe to increase diplomatic and economic pressure on North Korea.
USA stated that it conducted a successful test of THAAD missile defense in Alaska and sent two B-1 bomber out of GUAM to 10-hour journey on the Korean Peninsula. Vice-President Mike Pence said that "all options are on the table" when it comes to North Korea.
Friday's test is considered more advanced than the Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launched on 4 July and marks a big step forward from a country that is considered to be unable to put forward a serious program of MBR. Sanctions and pressure on China were the main ways to attempt to restrain nuclear and missile programs of North Korea in the past - with little success.
"It is time to begin a preventive war before they will have nuclear-armed ICBMs," said an expert on arms control Jeffrey Lewis last week.
