Russian motorists will soon have to pay even more per liter of fuel at the gas station. This is due to the fact that the Russian government decided twice to raise the excise tax during the following year.
As it became known to the newspaper "Vedomosti", the Cabinet of Ministers adopted the arguments of the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation and decided to consider the option of increasing excise duty on petrol from 1 January 2018 from 1 July 2018. Of course, according to analysts, the increase in excise duty will automatically affect the cost of one liter of gasoline at filling stations across the country. Growth is expected to be at least 50 cents in the first half, at least another 50 cents in the second.
The initiative to increase excise tax by the Ministry of transport reported the newspaper "Vedomosti" - and it is related to the fact that he did not have enough money to implement large infrastructure projects, for example, such as trails in the Crimea and in Kaliningrad region. The surplus may be allocated for maintaining roads in the regions of Russia.
