Russia`s quota in the World Bank remained at the level of 2.7%, Russian finance minister Alexei Kudrin has said.
"This quota should have been reduced, but in view of Russia`s big contribution to the development (help provided to other countries) the quota remained unchanged," Kudrin said.
During the G20 summit in Pittsburg in September 2009, the member countries agreed to increase World Bank quota shares for emerging economies by 5%.
The Russian finance minister said quotas for all countries have been reviewed during meeting organized by the World Bank on the weekend.
"Redistribution of quota shares in favor of emerging economies is under way... Russia in these circumstances has preserved its 2.7% quota. It was not easy, but it is a compromise variant, which was supported by all countries," the said.
