The actor is married to Christine Taylor, and they have eight-year-old daughter Ella and son Quinlin, four, together. The pair are soon to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary, but Ben has no intention of hosting another commitment ceremony.
Couples including Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum and Seal and Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott all recently renewed their vows, but Ben doesn`t understand the point. "If your relationship is in good shape and you`re communicating with each other and you`re close, then that`s what`s important," he said. "The vows thing is the vows, but I think it has to be implicit that you meant it the first time."
Ben was equally as dismissive when asked about his celebrity pals. The 44-year-old is friends with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who regularly bring their four-year-old daughter Suri over to play with his kids.
The actor insists Tom and Katie are just like any other couple, adding fans shouldn`t build up their idols so much. "These are just people," he told the American edition of OK! magazine. "They`re human beings like all of us."
