Russian song to "Get You" at next Eurovision
Channel One has announced the name of the singer who will represent Russia at the next Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf. Aleksey Vorobyov, a singer with classical musical education will premiere his Eurovision entry on Channel One on March 12.

This year, the mechanism of choosing the musicians to represent Russia at the International Song Competition endured some significant changes. As a result, Russian Channel One, which is the official broadcaster of the song contest in Russia, was given the privilege of choosing the song. National competition and voting was abolished for good.

Vorobyov`s song "Get You" was created in collaboration with prominent songwriter RedOne, the author of several Lady Gaga`s hits and the World Cup 2006 official theme. He has also worked with Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez and other celebrities of the world pop-scene.

RedOne himself confessed that he is really anticipating the Competition in Germany. "I really like the song that we wrote together with Aleksey Vorobyov and hope the world will be able to appreciate it too," he said.

"It`s a great honor and a great responsibility to represent your country at Eurovision. I`ll do my best to cope with everthing at best I can, and enjoy struggling for victory. And I`m sure the song "Get You" has all chances in the world to succeed, as the man who wrote it not only knows the latest tendencies in world music - he actually creates them," the singer said.

Aleksey Vorobyov, born in 1988, has graduated from The Gnesins` Academy of Music in 2005. Twice he won awards at MTV Russia Music Awards and also became the winner of some other musical competitions in Russia. Since 2007, Aleksey Vorobyov is a UN goodwill ambassador.

Last year Eurovision-2010 brought Russia and singer Peter Nalich 11th place. The next edition of the Europe`s main song contest will be played in Düsseldorf from May 10 till May 14.
