Disaster protection worked on nuclear reactor in Sverdlovsk region
The cause of disaster protection activation is short circuit in automatic control block.
By words of regional centre of emergency situations there are no victims, contamination or any prerequisites as a result of an accident, reactor is stopped.
Reactor Material Institute said that the power of investigative reactor is 15 megawatt. "this accident is qualified as deviation of normal exploitation", - declared institute representative. He informed that radiation background is not exceeded and there is no danger to life. Because reactor is used in scientific aims there will be no consequences if it is stopped.
