A football fan with a banana in his hands was detained by police during Russiaýs National Football League game, which took place in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk.
´The young man, who supported visiting Enisey Krasnoyarsk, was released only after he wrote a note, in which he explained the reasons behind bringing the fruit to the stadium, Gazeta.ru reports.
Curiously enough, it turned out the fan was not planning a racist rant as there were no dark-skinned on the pitch on that day.
Thereýs no legislation, which forbids taking fruit or vegetables to football stadiums in Russia, so the "perpetrator" returned to the stands to see his team beat home side Sibir with a 1-0 scoreline.
Bananas came into focus after a scandal in the Premier League, in which Anzhi`s Brazilian star, Roberto Carlos, was insulted by supporters of Zenit and Krylia Sovetov, who threw the fruit at him.
