The First Russian Forum of martial arts took place in Moscow Universal sports facility of CSKA, November 12. Representatives of different kinds of combat which became popular in Russia took part in the forum: aikido, u-shu, kickboxing, judo, unarmed self-defence, sumo, close fight, ju-jutsu, capoaira and taekwondo. Refr informed RIA Novosti there were about 450 sportsmen who came to the forum at the age from 5 to 50 from all regions of Russia.
The main organizer of that action was Russian martial art union (RMAU) which united more than 35 sport federations together for the first time. According to Sergey Kirienko "all but everyone who performed today is a champion of the world and Europe". "When a Russian sportsman wins in China or Japan, home of martial arts, I feel am proud of our country."
Kirienko said there will be the first ceremony of presentation with prizes in martial arts on November, 28. It is going to be held every year. Yury Trutnev said the main aim of the forum is to interest young men in sports. "I don?t know more visible and clear appeals to go in for sport than to show the best sportsmen." - said Trutnev.
"We showed all opportunities today. One just need to choose," - said Kirienko.
President of Russian Olympic committee Leonid Tyagachev said Moscow audience was able to see so many kinds of martial art in one acting for the first time. "I?m sure many of these kinds of sport will become Olympic in the future", - said he.
