Officials of Chechen Ministry of Interior Affairs declared about seize of last handheld antiaircraft-rocket complex "Needle" in rebels` disposal.
Handheld antiaircraft-rocket complex was found in apartment of Aslambek Chentiev - member of so-called Groznyy vahhabit jamaat. He was arrested on Tuesday. Chentiev is suspected in connection to at least 2 serious crimes - attack on Ingushetia in June 2005 and murder of policeman in Groznyy in April 2003.
During search in his flat, officials of Chechen MIA found handheld antiaircraft-rocket complex "Needle" - the latest version of antiaircraft-rocket complexes in disposal of illegal soldiers from 2001.
Rebels of Groznyy vahhabit jaamat manages to buy 8 "Needles" in Georgia in 2001 and deliver them to Chechnya. Using this weapon rebels brought 4 helicopters of federal forces down during 2001-2002. Including Mi-8 with committee of General Staff on board and Mi-26 with soldiers on contract service, 116 of which were killed.
3 handheld antiaircraft-rocket complexes were seized during operations of jaamat soldiers` liquidation in 2003. Then several leaders of organization were annihilated.
