NOVOSIBIRSK, November 17 - The authorities in the southern Siberian region of Altai kray have cancelled quarantine restrictions imposed after an outbreak of bird flu.
As a local Emergency Situation Ministry spokesman said bird flu had been confirmed in only one village, and the deadly virus had not been found in the blood of about 100 fowl that had died in two villages in the region since October. He added that local health authorities were continuing to take measures to prevent the disease spreading.
