The sickness rate of 15-17-year-old teenagers increased by 64% during last 10 years, children younger 15 by about 30%.
These numbers were announced on a conference of medico social problems of children`s disablement with 200 rehabilitation specialists from Central, North-West, Volga and Ural federal regions which started on Thursday in Lipetsk.
The most widespread reasons of children?s disablement are nervous system diseases, and diseases of organs of sense, mental disorders and congenital anomalies, "Interfax" informs.
"High sickness rate and children?s disablement resulted in serious medico social after-effects: great number of teenagers have limitations of state of health while matriculating to trade schools and searching for a job, more than 30% of youths are unfit for military service", - said the chief child rehabilitation-expert from Ministry of Health and Social Development Larisa Baleva in her speech.
Conference participants are going to define priority trends for preventive measures of children?s disablement, discuss problems and future trends of achievement of individual programs of children-invalids rehabilitation, visit regional child institutions of health protection in Lipetsk region within two weeks.
