Khabarovsk dwellers alarmed with forthcoming to Amur poisoned patch have begun to buy up drinking water in shops.
Townspeople were appealed to store up five-day water-supply. "Water supply will be stopped at 30 November approximately until 3 December 2005".
Rospotrebnadzor said reserve supply of drinking water is enough for supplying Khabarovsk.
Water will be purged from chemicals at water supply points using activated charcoal. 20 tons of activated charcoal will be purchased for purification of drinking water from benzol.
According to predesigns concentration of nitrobenzene in Amur waters in the area of Leninskoe village might exceed maximum allowable concentration by 1.5-2 times during 2-3 days, and near Khabarovsk concentration will be less than 1.0 maximum allowable concentration.
As a result of damage on a chemical factory in China 100 tons of poisonous substances were thrown to Sungari river which flows to Amur. These poisonous substances are now moving towards Russian territory.
