Kamchatksky interregional nature protecting Office of Public Prosecutor started examination of oil spill from trawler "Ming Czhu", which was run aground by storm.
As prosecutor Alexander Teplyakov informed, according to tentative data, leak of engine oil from broken ship occurred. Oil products are carried to shore by waves. Scales of oil spill will be established by rescuers of Special Sea Inspection, who has already directed to place of accident.
"Ming Czhu" was run aground by hurricane wind and waves, caused by cyclone, near Babya bay at 5:00 by local time. According to data of the head administration of Emergency Ministry over Kamchatskaya oblast, trawler lies on side and half-flooded. At moment of accident crew was not on board of the ship. Nobody has been injured.
Fishery activity of Chinese ships in Beringov Sea was examined by State Sea Inspection in autumn 2004. During examination of refrigerator on "Kai Yun" board was revealed substitution of kinds of fish, which was handed by "Ming Chzu", "Kai Fa" and "Kai Ming" trawlers to transport ship. Total ecologic damage was estimated as 676 millions of rubles.
"Ming Chzu" trawler was confiscated and at the moment of incident stayed under disposal of officers of justice.
