Petards will not be prohibited during New Year holidays in Moscow.
This was informed by mayor of Moscow Yurii Liuzhkov on Tuesday evening. At the same time, mayor emphasized that law machinery services are obliged to check quality of petards and fireworks in the view of the holiday.
"We will not prohibit petards but it is necessary to teach Muscovites how to use them correctly", - said Luzhkov.
Mayor of Moscow reminded that one can not let off fireworks near wooden constructions and between buildings. By his words, one can start fireworks only at open space.
Several days ago one of city officials announced that during New Year celebrations police will reduce unapproved use of fireworks.
