Head of the national Bank of Ukraine wants to continue cooperation with the IMF
The head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeria Gontareva, appointed by the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, held conversations with the head of the international monetary Fund Christine Lagarde and told about the intention to continue the cooperation of Ukraine with this organization.
" We already held the first dialogues with Christine Lagarde, she not only congratulated the 1st Ukrainian woman, head of the National Bank, but was pleased with the result, which saw the Parliament (for the appointment of Gontareva - editor), " said the head of Ukraine Piotr Poroshenko in the process of submitting Gontareva in the form of the head of the NBU.
Gontareva thanked the previous leadership of the NBU for the resumption of cooperation program between Ukraine and the IMF and stressed that the implementation of this programme will be its primary goal.
" For me it is the task of the road map. They should come and start to work, " said Gontareva.
Two weeks later, the IMF mission should provide an interim evaluation of the implementation of the stabilization program in Ukraine under which the global Fund has provided loan funds. The 1st tranche of the IMF loan to 3, 2 billion dollars was allocated Ukraine on settlement of foreign debt and support gold reserves. The allocation of the second tranche 1, 4 billion dollars will be depending on the performance by the Ukrainian authorities ' reform program. Total assistance of the IMF Ukraine approved in the amount of $ 17 billion.
