"Gazprom" will apply to Stockholm arbitration tribunal in case Ukraine will illegally take the gas, assigned for Europe", - warned vice-chairman of company Alexander Medvedev.
"80% of gas for Europe is exported through Ukraine. We are ready to supply Europe with gas in necessary amounts. At present moment there is an export to Ukraine also but in case negotiations will fail, gas supplies to Ukraine will be cut off", - said the representative of Russian company.
"Ukraine sells gas to European consumers. They have acting treaty with Romania, for example. From January 1, Ukraine has established the price level of $265 per cubic meter of gas against $230, which Russia requests for own gas from Ukraine. Therefore, Ukrainian colleagues know how prices in Europe are formed", - said the vice-president of "Gazprom".
Medvedev assured that new prices on gas for Ukraine are not connected with politics. "Ukraine is recognized as the country with market economics and plans to enter WTO soon. Russia is ready for compromise solution of the problem - if Ukraine have no opportunities to pay money for Russian gas, we can accept the property, which we are interested in", - said Medvedev.
Medvedev hopes that there are still chances on agreement between "Gazprom" and "Naftagas of Ukraine". "We still have a week to reach the agreement", - emphasized he.
