Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers head Yury Yekhanurov confirmed the Republic?s willingness to sign intergovernmental agreement on gas supply. He explained the work scheme, and said, that gas would be transported to Ukrainian boarder the company chosen by Russia. at the Russia-Ukraine boarder this company is to deliver gas to joint enterprise, with the head assigned in Kiev.
According to Yekhanurov, Russian-Ukrainian joint enterprise is to be established by February 1, and by January 16 Ukraine is to submit its variant of intergovernmental agreement with Russia on gas supply in current year.
At the same time, "Naftagas of Ukraine" deputy Board of Directors chairman Andrey Lopushansky informed that Ukraine doesn?t need Russian gas for the time being, and explained, that specially established joint company is to purchase Middle Asian gas from RosUkrEnergo. Thus, Ukraine intends to talk on Russian gas purchase with RosUkrEnergo only when it is necessary.
Earlier, Gasprom, Naftagas of Ukraine and RosUkrEnergo were reported to sign an agreement on establishing a joint company, RosUkrEnergo to be the gas supplier to Ukraine.
Naftogas of Ukraine placed on its web site information, saying that both companies turned to meet principles of market economy in joint work in the field of gas supply. The press-release also says that since January 1, 2006 Gazprom supplies gas to RosUkrEnergo by price formula, according to which the price constitutes $230/a thousand cubic meters. The agreement takes in account presence of Middle Asian gas on RusUkrEnergo balance.
RusUkrEnergo has been supposed to sell gas to Ukraine by price which since January 1 constitutes $95/a thousand cubic meters.
