In 2006 amount of charter flights to Israel from Russian and Ukrainian towns will increase by 4 times, informed ministry of Israeli tourism.
The number of regular flights, realized by Russian airlines, will also increase. Direct flights to airports of Ben-Gurion and Eilat will be available from Lvov, Harkov, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk towns.
Due to strengthening of competitiveness among airlines the prices will reduce, announced general director of tourism ministry Eli Cowen.
93,000 Russian and Ukrainian tourists visited Israel in 2005. This is by 16% more than last year but ministry considers such growth rate insufficient. The goal of next year is to attract 300,000 of Russian and Ukrainian tourists.
Meanwhile, promised by tourism ministry indulgence in tourist visa granting to citizens of Russia and Ukraine has not been established yet.
