Zone of chemical pollution has completely passed Komsomolsk-na-Amure, informed press-service of Far East regional center of Russian Emergency Ministry.
At present moment front edge of chemical pollution passes Amur river near Bystrinsk-Kalinovka settlement. The length of pollution reaches 210 km.
"By results of water tests, taken from Amur river near Komsomolsk-na-Amure, concentration of nitrobenzene in water is extremely low", - noted in press-service.
5 mobile groups, consisting of policemen and officials of fish inspection, patrol along Amur river in order to prevent catch of fish and its further sale.
Dangerous chemical substances got into Amur river after explosion at chemical plant in Chinese town Tsilin on November 13. As a result of emergency about 100 tons of benzene and other toxic compounds got to Sungari river, flowing into Amur.
Chinese People`s Republic and Russia took appropriate measures for minimization of accident`s consequences. As a result water supply in Habarovsk was not cut off during passing of polluted zone along Amur, near regional center. For purification of tap water, municipal enterprises "Vodocanal" of Habarovsk, Komsomolsk-na-Amure, Amursk used activated coal.
