Ukraine restricts the consumption of natural gas in the heating season

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has set the limit of gas consumption for the successful completion of the heating season 2014-2015 without Russian supplies: industry and enterprises of communal heat power engineering are required to reduce gas consumption by 30%, budgetary organizations - by 10%, informs the government of Ukraine on Monday.

" throughout the period August 2014 and March 2015 it is planned to establish such restrictions apply: industry - 7, 53 billion cubic meters, budgetary institutions and organizations - 0, 63 billion cubic metres, enterprise de - 5, 85 billion cubic meters ", - is informed in the report of the Cabinet.

The population of Ukraine over this period, as expected, uses 13, 56 billion cubic meters of gas. Production-technological expenditures and losses of gas producing and gas transporting plants, and so on must be 2, 66 billion cubic meters.

so, the Cabinet of Ministers forecasts the total gas consumption in the heating period at the level of 30 and 23 billion cubic meters. At the same time the available resources of gas during this period will amount to 23 billion cubic meters, of which 9, 5 billion cubic meters of storage in UGSF and 13, 5 billion cubic meters of own production.

Anticipated shortage of gas, is 7 and 23 billion cubic meters. The Ukrainian authorities hope to cover it by imports.

" The current technical possibilities of import deliveries from EU countries allow to carry out daily imports of natural gas in the amount of 43 million cubic meters, which capacity allows to import during the period August 2014 and March 2015 to 10, 5 billion cubic meters ", - is informed in the report.


Regardless of the relations of Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian economy in the next few years will not be able to do without Russian gas, because the alternatives in principle does not exist, emphasizes former Acting Premier of the government of Ukraine Sergey Arbuzov.
