Transit of natural gas through Ukraine reduced, on operative data, for 2,8 % or 630 million cubic meters, comparing to the similar period of 2005. Totally, 21 billion 870 million cubic meters of gas have been transported to Europe.
At the same time Ukraine is planning to increase transit of Russian gas to Europe for 0,4 % or 0,5 billion cubic meters in 2006, comparing to 2005, and transport 122 billion cubic meters of gas.
Deputy minister of fuel and Energy Ivan Plachkov informed about Ukrainian plans the EU Commissar for Foreign Affairs Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
In her turn, the commissar greeted signing the agreement between Ukraine and Russia about supply and transit of gas. The parties also agreed on the visit of the EU export commission on gas problems to Ukraine the in the nearest time.
