By tentative data, the area of frozen winter crops comes to 3.5 million hectares or 30% of sown area. This was announced by Russian vice-minister of agriculture Sergey Mitin.
"Because of unfavorable agrometeorological conditions on European part of the country forth-coming spring sowing campaign in Russian Federation demands special concentration of financial, technical and labour resources. Taking re-seeding of lost crops into consideration spring sowing will be held on territory of 52 million hectares", - said Mitin during Voronezh meeting with representatives of legislative and executive authorities of Central federal region.
Vice-minister noted sharp shortage of equipment in villages. "Provision of the state agroindustrial complex with tractors comes to 44% and in oblasts of Central region - 48%", - informed Mitin.
