Last 5-storied building is demolished in Tagansky district of Central administrative area of Moscow.
Capital mayor Yuri Luzhkov visited solemn ceremony of demolition of last "khrushevka" building and noted the importance of this event. In his opinion, living in houses with low ceilings, without elevators and refuse chutes is a nightmare. "This accommodation doesn`t meet standards of civilization", - noted Luzhkov.
New modern house will be constructed on place of a demolished one. Luzhkov informed that lodgers of the demolished house have already moved to new houses within the bounds of the district.
Capital administrator noted that demolition of 5-storied buildings is based on investment principle. "Demolition of such houses is paid by investment funds. No budget money are spent", - noted Luzhkov.
By his words, capital authorities prefer to invest budget funds in solution of other important problems such as construction of social stores, post offices, schools, kindergartens and other social infrastructural assets.
