The Secretary General of the Council of Europe thorbj?rn Jagland tried to persuade him to end the bloodshed in Ukraine and to reduce the intensity of the rhetoric.
" The first thing I Wish to invoke, is needed to put an immediate end to the bloodshed. I think it would also be useful to minimize the intensity of the rhetoric from both, from all sides, it would be a good starting point, and ultimately could lead to the cessation of violence, fire, currency seized, " said Jagland in the process of meeting with state Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin.
according to him, the crisis in Ukraine is an event that must belong to the past, and has no right to exist in the 21st century.
He said that the Council of Europe was created in order to protect the wars, and member States of the organization have to find peaceful solutions to conflicts.
Jagland noted that, for example, the European agreement on human rights, as in the conflict area and beyond. He explained that he has in mind a situation where a large number of people have to leave their place of residence, become displaced and are in the square of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
Jagland said that this fall will once again come to the capital of Russia on an official visit.
